What to do when a death occurs:
If a death occurs at home, telephone the deceased's GP. The GP should
then come to the home to pronounce life extinct, if he has been
treating the deceased and feels that he can give an accurate cause
of death you may then contact us and we can assist you with all
the necessary arrangements and the transfer of the deceased to
the funeral home if required.
If he cannot give an accurate cause
of death he may wish to refer the death to the coroner, this will
mean him calling the police who will come to the home and liaise
with us to transfer the deceased to the local hospital mortuary.
If the death occurs in hospital then you can contact us ( it is wise
to do this during normal working hours as nothing can be done regarding
arrangements outside these hours).
